Default new engine fitted, now fuel pump is dead?

Loosing my patience here, ive just built a new engine for my 95 wrx and the fuel pump seems to be dead. The engine cranks but there is no priming from the back, or clicks from the relay. It was working fine when i took the engine out, can anyone tell me what the problem might be?

Just pulled the fuel pump relay and chucked a bit of wire in there and the fuel pump started straight up, though the engine still wont start with fuel being delivered. Its doing my head in, halp!

So you have fuel to the engine upon cranking?

Does it have a spark?

Not without me bridging the fuel pump relay no. No i dont think it has a spark, i was very careful not to unplug anything more than i needed to and definately nothing that wasnt in the engine bay. Ive reattached the two multiplugs on the right, the multiplug on the back, the maf and lambda, the starter and the starter earth, i cant understand why it wont fire back up. Even reused the original loom from the broken engine to avoid risking the new one being faulty and causing this problem. Ive put so much time and effort into it, its a kick in the ***** to have it crank and not fire

A scour of the 4 corners of the internet suggests to me that the ecu isnt turning on, as theres no check engine light when i turn the key to ignition. How the hell has this happened lol

Where does the ecu draw its power from, i know which pin it is but i need to find where it actually goes, or just why it wont turn on! Is there something in the bay that connects directly to it or something?

do you have an alarm/immob on it, are you locking and unlocking the car then trying, or has the car been left open in a garage and you are just trying to start it ?

Have a look at this:

Might take a while but will help you out I'm sure, certainly helped solve a lot of problems with my car.

you probably solved this already but, if not check the Earthing wire going from starter motor and the chassis. make sure its tight, i had a similar issue a while back.
