Hello. I've got a 1993 impreza wrx wagon import. The car is running fine but doesn't seem to boost over 8psi and it seems to not hit the full 8psi until about 5000rpm. I've checked all vacuum pipes, checked boost pill is there, and cleaned boost solenoid. I've also connected the actuator direct to the presure source port on the turbo to check actuator and still only 8psi. Mods are boost guage, filter and back box. What should be my next thing to do, replace actuator?? Any more advice would be very helpful please. Thankyou.

 

1st port of call would be to check for error codes via the self diagnostics. Car is hitting boost cut at 0.5 bar for safety,could be Maf or map sensor. I would do an ECU reset to start with(following the correct procedure) then take for a drive followed by an error code check.
