2002 WRX ECU
For some time I have been curious about ECU's, but understand the potential to royally mess them up if you don't know what you're doing (like me)
I do want to learn, but I am not quite ready yet.
I have 2002 WRX, and I have been thinking for some time about what I can do with my ECU. As far as I am aware it is stock, labelled as a Denso V3.
I have read previously that on some stock ECU's, it is possible to store two different maps (i.e. race & eco) which I really like that idea off. At some stage, probably when finances allow, I will probably upgrade/replace the ECU for one that allows me to fully tinker, once I have learnt a little bit more.
So, I guess my question is, can I do anything with my current ECU, or should I start looking for a replacement. And if I am going for an aftermarket one, is there a list of compatible ECU's anywhere?
Cheers guys
