Default Launch control......for dummy

Hi all.

I just bought a 500hp+ bugeye running a Autronic ecu with launch control.

It seems to have revs set to a tad over 4k but I just seem to bog down.

Is it my driving/clutch control, or do I need to have the revs set higher to get passed it?

Cheers in advance

It shouldnt be your driving, as all you would normally do is once it is activated with your foot flat to the floor set at whatever the predetermined rev target is just side step the clutch, Have you checked the tyre pressures as you might find it better with a bit more air in, If not just get the rev limit upped a bit until it suits you.

I will check tyres tomo, I ask about rev limit as read a few peps using more like 5k.
As you said I am flat down and if I drop the clutch it bogs down, in dry this is. And I even tried to slp it a bit but it not easy, still end up bogging down.

Next question would be does anyone know any one near gatwick who can alter my ecu setting for me?

Cheers again

Must be a simple task to do....

Hi there

Depends on what turbo you are running and how is set LC,you shouldn't bog down

What clutch you are running and what flywheel?

We are stalled on first run on Santa pod with Twin Plate, second time has been better etc.,but still we are not managed to get to our target 11.5(best time has been 11.8,from online calculator we should be making 11.5-11.6 )

About the setting yours, speak to mappers here like Simon@JGM(he is usually on SRR,which in Surrey),Duncan@Race Dynamix or any other mappers, which would able to adjust yours LC without the problem

Hi there

We're tried on our one 3800RPM LC,which doesn't work for us,later on we are set LC on the 4500RPM which has been OK,but still not the best, later on we are set on 4800RPM which worked for us

But still on our logs,we are losing boost between gear changes, which should be addressed by setting the FFS(Flat Foot Shifting) and this will help us with better boost recovery during the gear changes

On GT35R I would have set LC higher(probably somewhere at 4500-5000RPM),but also depends on tyres what are you using and as above clutch etc

That's very helpful info dude,
Currently on road tyres as it is my run about motor so I can get out the van on weekends lol.
I am waiting for the full spec list to be sent onto me but believe its a 2.5 sti organic clutch, so may not like hard launches really.....

But I do think your right, it needs to be near on 5k in my opinion, just need to find someone who can alter it for me locally when I get a chance.
food for thought anyway lol
