Default Howdie from Mauritius Island - Technical track day advise. 05 wrx

Hello Guys

I hope all is good on your side.

I need some advise from you pros, Actually I am from Mauritius Island and down here there are no tracks but only Wrc style Rally and Technical track days for amateurs ( like me )

Technical track day drone video:

Current winner of my category is an evo 8.
here is a video:

I currently have a wrx Blobeye 05 with an STI lump running a vf28.
Suspension mods is a set of Hks coilovers and a motec ecu.

What I am looking to add is a quick steering rack and a hydrolic handbrake but I am looking for advise on which type of suspension setup would be best for this type of track or even engine mods.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Firstly Welcome. nice to see another owner from Mauritius.

I'll be out there in June to see family.

What kind of budget do you have for the chassis mods? also what have you carried out so far chassis wise apart from the HKS coilovers?

There are some great guys on this forum with a wealth of info, I'm sure they'll be along soon. It may be worth posting in the Suspension subsection also with more information about your current setup.

Thank you very much for the reply bro

Actually I been a member since 2007 but was in uk in at the time and own a gc8

Cool let me know when you down, Can get you to meet the community down here, save my num 52551120 - Yash

Back on topic.

Chasis wise, I havent done anything only the coilovers. I was thinking upgrading all bushings to powerflex ones and roll cage for the future.

I am really after good driving techniques and anything that can help my performance. Also will be remapping the car soon after I add a methanol kit.

I will be adding the thread the suspension section thanks bro

Will do, be nice to see some of the cars on the island!

I'm using Powerflex black series bushings on my GC8 build and STI group N in some cases, good upgrade. But the car is in pieces so its easy to replace them and they're all there to complement the other primary upgrades.

Have you looked at uprating ARB's First? ARB mounts and Droplinks? Roll centre/bump steer correction kit? Anti lift kit? All available from whiteline etc

All combined with a proper geometry setup for your needs will make a massive difference before you Polybush things and go down the route of a cage etc.

Also have you modified the standard wrx brakes/fluid/pads/lines etc? which tyres do you run? The quick rack certainly sounds like a good idea.

The VF28 seems well suited to the type of use on the tight small track but my advice would be to address the chassis/braking upgrades first.
