Can anyone please advise as to the best air filters and induction kits to fit to a standard Scooby MY98 (S reg) 5 door version. While we are at it what would be the best kit to get for say £500 to boost the standard BHP and what kind of gains could be achieved?

Thanks for all the info.....

Hi
For a induction kit the main brands are blitz, hks,k&n and pipecross but you best is hks superpowerflow from prodrive or dpmotersport and for better boost there are opions as a decat that is likly to give you a extra 20 to 40bhp or to reprogram your standerd ECU but this opion relys on the turbo

The greatest power increase for £500 would be to get a low mileage big turbo from a breakers, buy a second hand downpipe and fuel cut defender and fit a Dawes. Certainly not very subtle and you would need to monitor boost, EGT, AFR and Knock to be safe IMHO, which increase the cost somewhat.

Or you could spend rather more getting a full exhaust and a remap which is considered more proper.

Induction kit will make a negligible difference but a lot of noise, and some put your MAF sensor and hence your engine in potential danger.
