Another Dawes question
Hi I am currently trying to decide wether or not to buy a race spec dawes device. And am worried that it might be damaging to my turbo etc. Can anybody reassure me and advise how easy/difficult it is to fit. ( I fitted own dump valve, SS exhaust etc - woohoo !!) so am only so confident which parts are which, but this does scare me ! Don't want to wreck my baby :-) and have been advised by that nice man Jamie that I may need a boost gauge and pod, again how easy are these to fit ?
All answers greatly recived in advance, and sorry if the Dawes question has been over done !
Car is MY96 Turbo

Hi!
I'll leave this up to others to answer, but what I will say is that we can provide good instructions on all aspects of fitting the Dawes and Boost Gauges etc, and are more than happy to help!

hi steve how are you mate
the dawes is easily fitted by cutting the hose going from the boost solenoid to the actuator, and plumbing it in.
the trickiest part may be getting the boost to be how you want it.
it 'shouldnt' damage the turbo if you keep the boost level sensible, as the turbo can handle a reasonable increase in boost without any worries.
i would fit a boost gauge if i were you, as it will allow you to keep an eye on the boost levels.gauge is easy fitted. e-mail me off line if you need help with it

You simply must get a Dawes off Jamie, they are great, don't forget to get a AFM, so you can tell the mixture is correct. After fitting the Dawes, my car will keep up with a PPP car
Oh and Jamie will give you an excellent service mate
Cheers Phill C
Car is running around 1.1 to 1.2 bar

Not sure if you can get the AFM from Jamie still, but you need to monitor Fueling, so you don't run too lean. I got the Dawes AFM, and it's always on blue / green
You can use the Lambdalink, but it's a little more expensive

The AFM is taken from a feed off the ECU loom, I didn't do mine, my mate did it for me.
Plenty of people will help you no doubt, what MY have you got ?

PS edited cause I didn't read the last post.
