MY00 stuck in (no) gear - help pls.
My scoob's gearbox has been stiff getting in and out of reverse for a while and has now stuck altogether.
I was reversing out of a parking space and when I went to change into 1st I couldn't - the gearbox is stuck but not in a gear. If I let my foot off the clutch I can hear the gearbox grinding a little but it won't go into any gear at all.
Anyone know what the problem may be?
We had to tow the car back home and it's now feeling sorry for itself on the driveway, and the wife is already cheesed off driving me to the train station so the sooner it's fixed the better!
I've had it suggested that it may be the release bearing - now not being very technical I've no idea if this is the case but it sounds plausible - I'd just like some input from anyone who's actually had any experience with a Subaru gearbox / clutch / thingumyjig.
