Default Gearbox code

Hi could anyone tell me from this picture what model impreza this gearbox comes from .Im told its from a Catalunya bit suspicious

I can confirm,is from gt 2000 97 uk/edm with 4 kg viscous center diff and open front diff

Sadly 5 speeds are known to be glass trannies..beyond stock or stage 2 you are playing with destroying the gearbox,they are weak.Is this gearbox in working condition?If yes just keep the power around stock.It can run with more power but is a hit or miss.Dont forget to use semi synthetic fluid instead of fully synthetic,is better for synchros.

Not fitted it yet.i had one in my uk2000 and it went fine .i suppose its how the box is treated.im not interested in launching the car on stock box.If it ever went i would have the 5spd rebuilt with stronger internals.6spds are really heavy

The 754's are generally perceived as being stronger (and obviously newer than the 752's). Weight shoudln't really be a factor for not going 6 speed imo.

I agree with Lewis.My six speed is bulletproof but im just at 330 bhp on vf35.
