Rear diff - please remind me!

There was a thread a while back about UK cars, limited slip diffs and oil grades.
Can anyone remind me of the outcome re - oil for the rear diff. - limited slip compatable or not? I seem to recall that as the unit was of the viscous type, any GL5 would be OK?
