Default TD05H

Hello

are these the standard turbos on an sti 2 and are they are good for around the 350 bhp mark?

Also what are the standard injectors on the sti 2 ? i have taken one out and it is an grey top with the markings 5Y06D and or05
Are they 380cc ones and when do they max out on the duty cycle, what kind of boost

Yes and Yes this is about the limit depending on how/where you measure the power.

Injectors are 380cc, I would say safely 320bhp with an uprated pump and FPR.

Even small injectors can supply enough fuel at high boost mid range, it's the top end that gets you when you try to keep the boost up but run out of fuel as the available injector opening time decreases.

I tend to disagree with AndrewC above I think the Vers 2 Turbo is either VF 22 or 23 In my experience ALL STi Version 2 upwards cars use IHI VF series turbos. TDo5's are standard on WRX cars up to 1995 not STi cars.

I would also expect the injectors to be 440's but it's not my strong point. So in that case I could well be corrected. The turbo I am more certain of.

I have an sti 2 and it does have a TD05 , power depends on which rolling road you go to . You will be lucky to get more than 1.2 bar of boost @7000 rpm on the standard 380 injectors .

David.

Front entry turbo's weren't introduced until the phase 1.5 engined MY97/STi3 and apart from the VF12 on the legacy turbo I don't think there have been any 90deg entry VF series turbos used on Subaru's.

Likewise the 440cc yellow top phase 1 injector only arrived with the STi3.

Thanks for your help i was reading another acticle on the other site and they said about the IhI series are on ther sti2 but i defently says TD05H.
On the injector side of thing if i use an uprated fuel pump and standard injectors with an uprated FPR will i be able to run 1.2 bar and be able to keep the engine in one piece?
Or can i run the sti3 440cc in my car with my standard ecu or will i have to run an aftermarker one?
and what would i set the fuel pressure to is it 3 bar on idle and then it will do the rest or what ?
