No. Its how they're meant to sound.
Wife makes a constant droning noise though which I cant cure.

ok not a full decat but iv got a decat middle and a scoobysport back box and I find it way to loud inside the car (dont care how loud it is outside)
Any ideas to reduce the sound on the inside?

You might consider removing the downpipe cat and fitting a sports cat in the centre... More power, less casbin noise and itll pass its MOT. (Youll need a remap of course)

Full Mongoose de cat, quiet when normal driving, noisy with it floored. Easy to live with. Never listen to radio, Scoob sounds far better.

Why not go and buy a Civic Type R? They're not so noisy and you get a free set of curling tongs too...

Ray,
I've got the same (but with a DP),. Yes. mine's loud in the cabin, but to get around it, (I haven't done it yet), I'm going to Dynamat the boot and probably the reaer seat and under the carpet......
Shouldn't be that pricey either.
The only downside - insulation for low loud frequency is heavy, therefore, might affect your performance slightly

Ive got a magnex back box, longlife centre section andjust the one de-cat. Its OK on short daps and when you know your going out for a blast but normal motorway driving it does tend to get on your pip a bit.
You could put back the cat and leave centre and back box
Or have a resonator welded into centre section
or instead of dynamat lift the carpets and chuck in old carpet underlay

I have Magnex down pipe and center section complete with a vortex afterburner back box
and it's mega loud and pops and bangs like a b@stard and i love it and the neighbours hate it

I had a straight thru centre and a firestorm, because the car is an ra (no noise suppression) it was a bit droney at motorway speed. Replaced the centre with a high flow resonated one and its much better and still get the raw sound from the firestorm on wot.

Know exactly what u mean Ive got Afterburner with Decat Centre and its a knightmare when cruising on motorways, was alot quieter with just afterburner
Best option may be to decat the downpipe and replace the centre with the prodrive one as suggested earlier in thread....should reduce noise.

Could anyone confirm would there be any difference in a PPP centre section and a decat centre section say on a MY00ppp in terms of performance?
Isnt the PPP Centre different to the standard centre???
Kinda thinking of fitting prodrive centre section back on but changing to decat downpipe instead.
