Question Twin-Dump Downpipe

Hi all!!!

I have a Twin-Dump Downpipe on my STI 5, Does this give any gain over other type's of downpipe?? What is the theory behind it??

The idea is to separate the gas flow of the wastegate, from the main flow of the turbine. In doing this the efficiency is increased because the two flows do not disrupt each other. Resulting in more power. (in theory anyway)

So does it work? who has tried both types?? My car is at 304bhp 295ft/lb at the moment at 13psi and full decat. would I find any gain form an open neck or other??

In reality most twin dumps just end up having the wastegate penny blocking the wastegate gases, creating boost control problems or lots of turbulence across the turbine exit. Hold a turbo up to a typical twin dump downpipe and you'll see what I mean.

i went from the magnex twin dump to and open neck H&S and i swear there was a difference (for the better) i'm with john banks, i don't believe the wastegate opens far enough to let the gasses down the extra pipe

revolution have changed the design of the downpipes from the twin dump thing to the open neck version

ive never seen the twin dump design but my mate rekons his is as its a early version, and my newer version is open neck
