Question

Bit of a prob that I think I've solved but just looking for some "informed opinions" to confirm my thoughts

I have a standard P1. Normally runs on Optimax plus NF Race. I've run out of NF and the other day had the fuel light on with no Shell garage in sight. In fact the only thing I could find was 95 NUL. Put some of this in and drove around fairly gently. Eventually found some Optimax and topped up with that.

Drove the car to Heathrow and parked it up for 8 days. Didn't notice anything odd on the way there. Picked the car up yesterday and bimbled back down the M4. Car wasn't accelerating very well and was horribly surprised at how powerless it was pulling out of a service station. Checked the SECS thingy and discovered the max boost I could achieve was 0.6 bar. Drove it again this morning, still only 0.6. Did an ECU reset with the SECS (great bit of kit) and it's now boosting quite happily up to 1.15 again.....

Question is then, does the ECU cut back the boost limit permanently if it senses crap fuel/knock?

Now to find some NF.....

Yes it does, if it sees a level of knock retard for more than a pre-determined period of time it will drop the boost like that, it was the 95 ron that did it.
