I have the Scoobysport downpipe in my MY01 and it does make a BIG difference.Pulls a lot stronger now right through to the redline and sounds better too.A very slight increase in noise but that's it!!!! (You get a nice whistling noise coming from the turbo now too )
I've read the standard downpipe houses the most restrictive cat in the MY01 so I'd say get it done.Worthwhile, while you've got the downpipe off to do the up-pipe as well as the downpipe allows exhaust gases to escape quicker from the turbo whereas the up-pipe allows exhaust gases into the turbo quicker. With a VTA dump valve, you should then see flames outta the back

Hope this helps?

Nick

P.S: You gotta take the downpipe off to get at the up-pipe!!!!

EDITED COS I GOT THE REMOVAL OF UP AND DOWNPIPES THE WRONG WAY ROUND,Well spotted Si and also to say don't lean on the wing and dent it like I did Thanks Zippy

Thumbs up

Lol at Zippy

Agree with Nick on this one, D/P is very restrictive but get both done at the same time. You'll only want to get the U/P done later so save money on labour.

Tiny,

Yep you will definately end up getting the Up-Pipe later and yes the Down-Pipe has to come off to do the Up.

I had a full ScoobySport system fitted : down, centre and backbox then 4 months later the Up-Pipe.

Rev's build faster and bangs 'n pops nicely now !

Your in the same position as me Tiny. I'm also looking at doing u/p and d/p, especially after seeing a few cars at Donington with this combination. I think the best idea is to do both at the same time but the labour charge on the u/p is a lot more than the d/p.

you can't go for just the DP, especially with the PPP.That's because if you maintain the UP it'll crack and eventually end up inside the turbo.
Better avoid.
