Default Rear Diff Outrigger Dynamic Dampers

So I was doing a bit of work on the car today including dropping the rear diff outrigger to rust treat it and renew the bushings. Taking it off, these two, heavy, blobs fell off either side. After a bit of research I’ve discovered these are what Subaru calls dynamic dampers. Looking at them, it appears corrosion has got between the the rubber and metal bond and they were just ready to pop off at any moment.

My question is, how vital are these? I know they’re supposed to reduce some of the vibrations from the diff but I don’t know by how much. Has anybody else had this happen?

Yes I mean the t shaped bit. Took it totally off the car to de-rust and paint it and also stick on some new bushes. Took the car to the shops earlier and there’s no odd noises so I don’t think these dynamic dampers are doing that much. Maybe that’d be different on a motorway or if there weren’t harder mounts everywhere. I’ll keep hold of the bits that fell off and maybe one day I’ll Araldite them back on or something.
