Default 2011 sti 2.5 6 speed with docs gearbox oils

Hi just wanting confirmation on gear box and diff oils.
on my 55 wrx blob I use to use 75-90 valvolene tdl fully sysnthectic in box and diff.
I still have this oil at home! but am I right in saying on my 2011 sti it's ok for gear box only.!!
And I can NOT use in diff as its got a lsd so have to use a 75-90ls oil.. many thanks in advance

Both gearbox and diffs take GL-5 75W-90 oil so should be OK as listed for GL-5 applications. LS specific oil not required.

Recommended Materials pdf

Change schedule is every 4 years or 40K miles which ever is soonest

Hi

As Don said, it's fine for both the gearbox and diff.

Cheers

Hi my only issue is when I go on valvolene 75-90 tdl it states not recommended for the limited slip diff..I'm refering to the rear.but also doesn't the gearbox have one as it's got dccd.just do t want to cause potential damage and failure.

The older DCCD diffs were plated, so needed a LSD specific oil. As far as I'm aware, the newer one has a mechanical diff, so doesn't need a LSD specific oil. Sometimes, oil companies will not list an oil for a LSD as they don't know if it's plated or mechanical.

Cheers

Tim
