Default Which uprated STI 6 speed clutch and flywheel?

Just wondering which 6 speed STI clutch kit and lightweight flywheel everyone would recommend?

I always thought I'd go for an exedy pink box kit, but would love your opinions and experiences please.

Cheers.

Competition Clutch Stage 2 running 447 here, can’t fault it tbh. Slightly heavier feel than standard

Very good point. Wow I really rushed that first post.

The car is a 2.5L 2004 SG9 Forester STI running circa 360bhp currently. Don't plan to run more than this before I go forged, at which point the clutch would be upgraded again to handle any potential power increase.

So 360bhp and under 400lb/ft torque. The car is my daily also, so don't want to end up with a massive left leg from over heavy clutch work.

started to see quite a few using competition clutch. Good to know you've had a good experience Paul.

Exedy PINK is a far better option at that level IMO and has greater refinement than most others

like all things be aware of "spoof" items from inferior sellers

have various options on the shelf here 0191-4103770

pink exedy and rcm lightweight flywheel I repkaced them both together on the bug sti running 340bhp including flywheel bolts, nps sensor, oils and 5hat little bearing that goes somewhere in the flywheel got them from rcm at the time lived and learnt since then....

I personally wished i hadn’t changed the flywheel at all to be hon3st it became a Kant when setting off and just didn’t feel the way it did before although clutch kit gets 5stars

Thanks for the advice people.

Will be ordering the Exedy pink box kit plus a billet flywheel from Alyn when I get to that point. Along with some other upgrade bits!

Stage 2 competition clutch and lightened flywheel at 364bhp here.
Unless told I wouldn't really know it was uprated. Clutch is fine and silent flywheel

Spoke to Rich @ FB who suggested that the Exedy blue box OEM 6 speed clutch would be fine up to 400bhp, as he's used it with no issues at all himself.

I will still be going for the pink box I think just to make sure and make it a little more future proof.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

In the end I went for the Exedy pink box clutch kit plus Billet lightweight flywheel including all oils etc from AS Performance.

Cracking service and the parts were here in no time at all, even with some additional bespoke shifter bushes they had made for my car. Couldn't be happier.

Richard @ FB Tuning is fitting these on Monday 19th so I will give feedback once on the car.

Standard clutch not slipped again since, but best to get it sorted just in case.
