Classic 6 speed conversion advice
Hi, I've got a impreza sti classic v2 and I'm looking for some advice on doing a 6 speed conversion.
I've seen a 3.9 R160 rally diff for sale and have been told this is suitable and it will allow me to keep the rear hubs and driveshafts I already have on the car at the minute. I was wondering what prop shaft I would need and which box would be suitable to mate with the engine prop and diff

Be careful with this diff . Your drive shafts may not fit if it's a R160 plated diff. Viscous v2 diff's have different shafts.
Also 3.9 ratio will only work with a JDM import 6 speed box.
A UK 6 speed which has a slightly taller 5th and 6th gear are more readily available. A UK six speed requires a 3.54 rear diff due to the 1.1:1 drop gear ratio. Again the UK 3.54 is more easily obtained..
