Hi All,

After some clutch options, getting my new lump ready to drop into the car. Engine spec is:

- Closed Deck Converted EJ25
- Manley 2618 Stroker Pistons
- +2mm Longer Forged Rods
- Nitrated EJ257 Crank
- 14mm Headstuds
- EJ207 AVCS fully refurbished cylinder heads

It will be running the largest GTX3076R Mamba turbo, looking to see around 500bhp at the crank on V power.

I had sourced a nearly new Exedy twin plate, but unfortunately at some point its got wet which has damaged it.

I've got a 6 Speed box, looking for a clutch and flywheel combo that will handle the torque.

I have an ACT SB10-XTSS with street disc (single plate) rated to 566lbsft, peddle pressure is up on OEM but got used to it and it drives good on DD. That's with the standard STI flywheel. The HDG6 disc (6 puck) is very grabby I've been told but holds a lot more torque.

I've seen that and have been thinking of that one. Also the Competition Clutch Stage 2 with a CC flywheel also. Swinging towards the CC Stage 2 at the moment.

I opted for the cc stage 2 clutch and fly as it was rated highly power wise and at a good price. I rang scoobyworx for the best price.

If you were thinking of the twin plate then consider the competition clutch twin plate, the stage 2 although is great I'm not sure it will take launches all day, mind mine did a few launches well, smell a little.
The xct is a very good clutch also and oe feel and can take some hammering.
The extreme clutch (Australian) twin plate is also worth considering as they seem very good for price.

Exedy twin plate from Alyn. Mine has seen over 250 full bore launches on slicks over these past 3 years in my sprint car. Countless very heavy gearchanges, slipping the clutch, job lot
Yeah it's had some serious hammer, still plenty of meat left on it and works perfectly.

Gone with the CC Stage 2 and flywheel. Its a fast road car not a drag car, for the money it seems a great option.

Hi mate

Have you had the stage 2 cc clutch fitted? As I'm after another clutch I have the stage 3 cc clutch and it's very on/off with judder!

So I'm after a more friendly clutch as my car is only used on the road not track/launches, would be good to hear your feedback on the stage 2

It's fitted, engine is back in the car so will be able to start driving on it soon. Pedal is pretty weighty but not overly heavy. Has a nice feel.

The stage 2 CC is not that bad, a bit firmer than stock but great, heard the higher stages can be firm.

I'm very happy with my stage 2 CC and lightened flywheel. A little firm but nothing to noticeable.
