Classic Gearbox
It finally decided to destroy itself. It was on borrowed time but coming down the road and shifted into 3rd, all you heard was bang.
The better option would be to replace it with a 6 speed but funds won't allow (lost my job again). Was going to replace it with a 5 speed but getting confused with what one will fit. The more I look into it the more I'm getting confused. I thought the diff was R160 with the ratio 3.9. But seems I am wrong when I'm looking at the links

Car is a 99 UK but previous owner changed a few bits so not 100% sure what gearbox and diff is in there.
What gearboxs can I fit without changing the diff assuming the correct one is in there and if I was to get a new age one is there anything else I would need to get so that it fits correctly.
Any idea what the going rate is on one of these, had a look online and prices are all hugely different. Also are there any garages in Birmingham that people recommend as I don't feel like doing it on the road.
