Is the MY01WRX exhaust system exactly the same as the STI V7 exhaust system?

Here in Switzerland I can only order a system (Supersprint) for the MY01, not for the new STI V7. Will the MY01 fit the STI?

Thanks for any information

Most of it fits, but I had problems with fitting my downpipe (it touched steering on fast left hand turns).
But that could have been specific to my system.

Had no problems with the rest of system. But won't order one that is not STi specific...

As a simple answer, the OEM exhausts are quite different. Apart from the fact that the uppipe on the STi doesn't have a cat, the downpipe, 2nd cat and backbox are all different. The backbox is a similar length to the WRX one.

D T-S had problems fitting Scoobysport MY01 WRX exhausts to his and Carolyns STis due to it fouling on the centre diff (which is wider on the STi with its 6 speed gearbox). I believe that Hayward & Scott have now altered their jigs and the problem is cured. However, that doesn't say whether the Supersprint one will exhibit the same problems.

The centre and rear WRX sections will *probably* not fit straight on an STi without fouling. However, I can only speak for Scoobysport, it may be different for other makes depending what route they take in the first place. It's actually the rear diff that is the problem (the casing is about 15mm wider, like the earlier STi's), not the centre one. My centre section also fouled the transmission tunnel before it was rejigged.

IIRC both the centre and rear sections have now been rejigged by Scoobysport/Hayward & Scott specifically for the STi7 and fit straight on.

To answer your question ric, you will either have to ask Supersprint for a guarantee that it will fit, or order a Scoobysport one and risk the wrath of the Swiss feds

Yep, just to confirm, we changed the layout so that it fits the STi and this layout also fits the WRX perfectly.
