As above, is there a known problem with std intercooler hoses?
If so is the problem mileage/age related?
Have people always upgraded IC hoses when fitting Ecutek ECU's?
(doubt it )
Apologies if asked before (just need justification for being a tight git & not buying new hoses )
Cheers,John

Exclamation

Standard TMIC pipes have been known to split at higher than standard boost levels, hence the change Prodrive make.

Question

Hmmm interesting question...

...so if I were to blow a hose, what are the consequences? Any damage?

Thumbs up

I had the link ecu fitted on my car and it just birst open the y-shape intercooler hose,i then changed to samco hoses easy to fit and very strong.
I would get the samco hoses if you are increasing your boost levels.

Take off intercooler, turn over and look at OE design, pick jaw off floor and fit something decent.

I opted for a ritual burning of the one we swapped out last night Never heard of one popping though - a few i/c to inlet's I'm aware of....which the PPP doesn't replace!

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=104419

Seems to be a real shortage of them at the mo!! Got me a set today from Graham Goode, but red as they had no blue......

MY99 is the 3 piece - same as WRX 5/6 and is Samco part TCS143

Cheers

Matt,

Up-pipe is similar (did you see photo without heat shileds?)....and so is inlet pipe (but this one looks a real sod to change...).
