Dave

Can you tell me whats the state of progress on cracking the ECU on the STI5. I'm not that bothered about more power, rather sorting the car out so its safe at higher revs, following all the recent scares listed on the Bulletin Board. Of course I'll probably have it chipped if this means the engine won't blow up!

It appears that your the main player in the Subaru field (not to be insultive to anyone else) so I'd rather have the car sorted by the 'experts'.

Thanks

Nor being an expert but how can you chip an ECU that has no socket unless you utilise a MAP sensor , fact is factory ECU has to be removed.
Remeber dyno day at Power Engineering 14 August!!

I'm sure David will reply, but until then I believe he said something like 6 weeks-ish to get something properly sorted. He also seems quite confident about it too. With a bit of luck it might even be ready in time for the shootout

Well there are a number of possibilities the chip itself can be desoldered and a new one put in its place not too difficult with the right kit although the latest I heard was that the chip was reprogrammable in Situ.
