    Hello,

I have a completely standard ’99 STi that I have recently imported from Japan and am looking for an ECU map.

I am eager to basically buy a spare ecu/aftermarket ECU and map it myself, as I have done some mapping in the past and just want to give it a light modification for UK fuel etc.

Would you have anything to suit? Im open to anything really, although was thinking of the Apexi Power fc as an option, as I would like to keep the original ecu as a spare if possible, for when I come to sell the car further down the line. Or could I buy a spare stock ECU with an ECUTEK license and then map it myself? Im open to any options, but the car is a hobby so the main selling point for me is being able to actually map and tinker myself when I get the time.

Im based in Belfast so not much chance of getting to actually meet up in person for a custom map Im afraid.

    Best regards,
    John

    Hi Bob,

Im afraid I missed your mapping session over in N.Ireland recently and have a totally stick 1999 STi Type R V6 import. I was wondering apart from mapping, are you able to supply the cable/software for me to access the stock ECU myself? The car has an OBDII port but I can't seem to connect with my OBDII connection using a generic trouble code reader. Im interested in doing some basic mapping of the ecu myself but just can't get my hands on the gear. I have done mapping before so I know the pitfalls and risks, but just can't find the hardware and software I need, without becoming a "business" or get trade access to suppliers myself. No problem in paying for a license/cable/software etc, I just want the the freedom to tune/learn at my own rate.

If you get the chance, please drop me a PM. Many thanks,
    John
