Hi Tony,it would obviously depend on how much you lower the vehicle as to whether it would effect the driveshafts/diff.
When you lower a car it puts the angle of the driveshafts entering the diff at a straighter level but the car would need to be lowered by a LOT to have any adverse affect mate,as long as you are only going between 20-40mm drop you will be more than fine.

    Hi Ryan,

Was thinking of buying some springs for suspension off Adam@Indigo GT. They should give firmer control, lower the car etc, however after speaking to a mechanic friend he advised me against purchasing them as he said it may affect the diff & gearbox.
    What is your opinion/advice Ryan?

Was that DaveY,it turned out his was a mapping issue, tbho it is one of those's problems I would need to experience ie drive the car to really give a proper diagnosis.
I would be looking toward either ICV valve or clutch slip from what is being described.

Someone mention clutch slip on a post but they were not 100%.

I have been trying different things to test if it was down to me maybe not lifting off accelerator quick enough, or my driving style etc but I have been lifting off accelerator completely before engaging clutch so I know it is not due to me & it is the car for defo.

    Someone posted this:
Has it been mapped recently? This happened to me after a remap,I was told it was the icv needed cleaning after going to see several "specialists"@ approx £60 a pop to try and get it fixed turns out it was a mapping issue for which i had to pay again to get it put right. If you decide to clean the icv get the rubber sealing ring beforehand, they seem to stretch when you take the icv off. One "specialist" tried to use silicon sealer instead of the ring.

Obviously this is gobbledy gook to me! Does it make any sense to you Ryan?

Hi Tony are you sure you are not getting a bit of clutch slipping mate or just not letting of the accelerator quick enough before pressing the clutch so the engine rev's pick up slightly?

    Hi Ryan,

It's Tony again with a small issue dunno if you have any idea. I did put a thread up but didn't get much help so I thought I would run it by you.

Only just noticed but when I am putting my foot down & changing from 2nd - 3rd or 3rd - 4th gear the revs can increase by 300 - 500 revs as I engage the clutch.

For example if I lift of accelerator at 3500 in 2nd & engage clutch for 3rd at same time rev counter goes up to 3900. Now if I completely take my foot off accelerator and then engage clutch less aggressively it is not as bad.

The only thing I have changed is gone to centre de-resonated & backbox from my original Prodrive mid & backbox.

    Cheers,

    Tony
