Post Samsung NC10 disc upgrade

Does any one know if Samsung 256GB 830 Series SATA 6Gb/s 2.5" SSD Laptop Kit will be a straight swap into my old NC10, finding the 160gb a bit size limited also thinking/hoping there be a speed boost.

should be - I opened mine to fit a ocz vertex 4 a while back, it is a bit of a fiddle, but watch the tutorials on you tube to see how to strip it down. Increase the ram while you are in there.

Hi Ray

It should be a straight swap, the only thing is I think the motherboard only supports SATA2 (3Gb/s), should still be faster than a standard hdd.

This guide might be useful to you: http://www.laptopmag.com/advice/how-...ard-drive.aspx

Also I'd get the ocz vertex 4 like Tarmac has.

the 830 as mentioned is SATA 3 so you aren't going to utilise its full performance.

(I have one in my desktop good bit of kit though).

You'd be able to get a SATA2 SSD probably £50 cheaper.

Have OCZ fixed their reliability issues now? My Vertex2 failed twice!

Cheers all, got it as Samsung are also doing a cash back offer at the moment, more memory was the first thing that went in, thought the ssd would be a useful life extender , the nc10 is such a useful travel size.
