media server linked to ps3

media server linked to ps3
Hi All
after installing a bit of lovely software from a ps3 thread on here i have decided to link a media server direct to the ps3.
However i tried 2 today and neither work.
1 was a buffalo live 1tb this didnt work through the lan i have set up. it stated it had dlhp media server on it but ps3 didnt recognise this .
i have an old media server that works but its too small and slow. this only works by plugging in the usb port. and aint very good.
How can i have as good or better result using a media server that is wifi enabled and also can be directly linked to the ps3 ? is there any thing out there,
Or do i buy a pc and have it hooked upto the ps3 some how directly so i can play HD movie content thorugh it.
if any one could help i would be greatfull for the advice.
