Youtube Videos Won't Play
I've just got a replacement hard drive, installed Windows XP, but Youtube vids will not play on this machine
I've uninstalled Flash player, restarted the comp, and installed the latest version, as recommended when I did a "Youtube video won't play" in Google, but still nothing will play.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy.

Does the video window make a showing but it just shows up blank?
If so right click on it choose settings disable hardware acceleration see if that works.
Have you tried different browsers?

I'm using IE7, and no, ain't tried any others.
Is there an issue with IE7 that you know of?
I managed to get Touch too Much by ACDC on, but it was just the song with a pic of the Highway to Hell album cover on the screen, no moving video involved.

Click on settings then turn off hardware acceleration or have you done this.
Give firefox a try see if that cures it, may need flash to be installed first though.

almost sounds like a missing codec problem but with the flash player freshly installed and no error messages it shouldn't be that maybe a directX issue? - the hardware acceleration settings as suggested by hux309 should highlight that.

Not necessarily i believe ati or nv can't remember had this issue with their drivers and it only affected youtube of all places and the only way to get video back was the way i suggested above.
but as you say try new drivers or reinstall flash see where that gets you.

I've had issues with nvidia driver settings and video playback some time ago (before youtube came about)... I think it used to be one of the settings relating to video overlay that needed changing.
