Quick EXCEL question
I'm spending some fun time trying to put my business expenses on an Excel sheet. I am not very good at this but learning (slowly!).
If I put items on lines but with random dates what format should I use for date so that I can sort items on date column i.e. have them listed in chronological order?
So can how should I list something that happened say on 5 November 2009 (05/11/09?) and another on 3 February 2010 (03/03/10?)
I hope that makes sense
Cheers, David

The column you are populating with the dates top of it you will see a letter A,B,C,D,E, etc put the curser over the letter and right click the mouse. You will then get a selection pick format cells, it should default to "number" on the tab selection, if it does, select date about have way down the column then pick the date style you wish highlight it and click ok.
As long as you had the cursor over the letter at the top of the column the whole column will take that style of date format. Depending of what version of excel you are using there should be an A to Z ascending and descending filter to put them in date order. Hope this helps.
