ISP hasnt provided my mac code
I asked my ISp for my mac code on Dec 31st as of today it hasn't arrived.
I called today and asked why not, only to be told BT provide the mac codes?
is this correct, i thought the isp provided the code
Ive told them that there legally bound to provided the code, but all they say is they are waiting on bt, and it should be here in 48 hrs..
how do i escalate it

To be honest threatening ofcom does ***** all, working for an ISP I used to get all kinds of threats, including violence.. based on network issues.
The only people who care about ofcom are the CEO's office.. some bod being paid £14k doesn't care either way ! and that's the managers

0.1% call up everyday complaining about something else and blaming the person the the end of the phone!
An No ISP's do not give a **** about customers.. agents or the ones I've known do, because they can relate to the issues, threatening the company still mean jack **** to them

In my experience Ofcom were the only people that managed to sort my mac code out.
Its worth ringing them before you even contact your ISP just to find out how quickly they SHOULD give you the mac code.

When I had this issue with e7even Ofcome would not even intervene until the time in which the MAC should had been issued had overrun by more than 3 months!
This was the time when e7even were unable to pay for their lines to support their current customers. So some idiot thought the solution was to promote amazing offers to get new customers to tide them over. Only the offer price was lower than cost price, so just made it all worse until they went bust
2.5 months without internet till we got it sorted

This is right and wrong. I spoke to someone at OFCOM when Virgin tried to **** me about. I was told that their policy was not to get involved with individual cases, but in this instance, because it was so extreme, theyd call them and hurry them along. Virgin called me 30 minutes later with a MAC code!

It wasnt actually extreme, it was a small problem being massively misdealt with. They would only accept my request for a MAC code if it was made through their support pages, but I couldnt access those because they changed my password. The issue was small but OFCOM became involved because their behaviour was unacceptable.

Well if you never needed to call them.. you never had a problem with them.. the only reason you'd need to call them is if it was a problem at their end !

it arrived last night
I would expect Ofcom to do something in that instance.
