Playstation 1? Worth buying???
#1
With the advent of PS2 I assume PS1 must be cheaply available now.
Having never had one I guess it would probably be a good starting point. Anyone know of any good deals going? Anyone selling one S/H - with loads of games???
Can you use PS1 games on PS2?
Thanks
Mick

have a look in local GAME shop as they do pre-owned consoles, so you might be able to pick on up cheap, or one of us on here might have upgraded to PS2 and have an old PS1 lying around (mine is sitting on top of my PS2 at the moment!)
Real question here is, why don't you go for PS2 instead? it can play most PS1 games, so if there is something on PS1 you want you are covered. I was playing GT1 and GT2 on the PS2, just to remind myself about it, then I went and stuck in GT3, wow! big leap, but, there are still games on the PS1 that have no rival on the PS2, GTA3 might be cool but the original GTA is just so cool.
anyway, my 2p's worth

Julian, thanks for e-mail, I can't respond just yet I am only just looking into these - got some research to do
Markus, thanks for the advice I will check it out. We are not 'big' games players but with the kids getting a bit older thought it may be worth looking into as opposed to gameboy etc. Not looking to spend too much money here Wifey is of weork for a year now with new bub - so trying to keep costs down (if possible )
