Question Two VPN client - 1 PC ?

We have a support laptop that requires access to a couple of sites via VPN. The first site uses a Checkpoint firewall, the second a Cisco box.

Can the CheckPoint SecureClient NGX60 software co-exist on the same PC as a Cisco 4.0.4 VPN client??

Could I use a general VPN client for both sites?

TIA,
Stefan

Not sure if this is much help but we use Checkpoint Secure Client and Netscreen remote for VPN access and have a simular problem that they don't co-exist on the same machine. The way I have got around the problem is by using Checkpoints SSL extender to create the VPN which works a treat, only problem is you would need to buy the SSL extender option!
Cheers

I found a workaround. If I unbind the CheckPoint Secure client from the NIC, the Cisco VPN software will work. I can then rebind it to use the Checkpoint one. They are only used as backups, so it'll be the easiest solution for the time being.

I found in the past that I could run two VPN clients by stopping the services associated with one client and starting the services for the other. Just hunt through the services and find the services for the Cisco or Checkpoint VPNs and turn one set off and see what happens. THere may be more than 1 service running per VPN.

Go into the properties of the NIC, where it lists all the client and protocols bound to the interface. You should see one for the Checkpoint software - simply untick it.

Do the reverse to reuse it.
