Default AMD Socket...

Which AMD CPU socket is for which processor? I assume the 939 is the most recent one for the dual core etc. and the 754 for the older Athlon 64s?

Why can't they just keep the same bloody mobo...

Socket A = 32-bit (Sempron these days)

Socket 754 = lower spec 64-bit

Socket 940 = multi-CPU 64-bit (not multi-core)

Socket 939 = higher spec 64-bit including the new x2 chips.
