MS Outlook 10 Error code
Is there anyone in the know that can tell me what an error code means please. It's been coming up since yesterday when they moved our antispam servers and of course our IT people have buggered off for Christmas
TIA

Task ' (1) - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
Where have they all gone then?
It sounds to me linke your outgoing SMTP address is incorrect.
However as your IT team have moved your antispam server/s it sounds like your Exchange Server (I'm assuming you are using Exchange) needs pointing to the new SMTP address or the address of the new Antispam box.
Are e-mails you have sent being received I.E. by the receipent?
Can you receive incoming e-mails?

They're working on an on-call rota, but having paged them about 200 times yesterday with no response I've given up.
I can still send and receive stuff it's just a bit of a struggle to get it to work sometimes. I've checked my SMTP server is correct (that didn't change), it was only the address of the POP3 that changed. I changed all that according to the instructions.
Got a good mind to stick my out of office on, switch my pager off and bugger off to the pub!
