In my control panel it tells me that automatic updates are on. But my security centre tells me they are turned off. When I click the turn automatic updates button on in the security centre, it comes up saying "Sorry we couldn't turn on automatic updates, try going to control panel....."

Then if I click on Windows Update from the start menu and try to scan the system it comes up with "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem"
