Best way to back up Samsung S8?
Hi
I managed to smash my phone last night and am going to have a new one sent to me through insurance. However I have to hand my old phone to the courier who comes to drop off the new one.
I've used smart switch in the past but that was when I still had my old phone and new phone at the same time. I'm also pretty sure I lost some data but can't remember what.
I will use the smart switch but as a belt and braces am I better off using Samsung cloud or google for back up?
Also, what is the best way to completely erase all the data from my phone before I hand it over?
Thanks

Also be aware of the factory reset lock (FRP) after factory resetting the phone! i.e make sure you go through the setup steps after resetting it, as it will ask for your google account login details in one of those steps.
Or remove your Google account in the settings before you do a factory reset, then confirm it doesn't ask for the previous Google login details on the setup screens.
