Default Deleting from micro sd

Hey, I've come to an issue where I can't delete files off my new sandisk micro sd card saying its write protected when I put it in my pc. Why has it done that and how can you turn it off?

I have this issue on 2 sandisk micro sd's now. Surely its not an all or nothing with micros, copy all files off then format each time is it? Can't you delete individual files like on usb memory sticks?

is it a permissions thing? - take ownership of the files

try running chkdsk on it

Are you sure the little write protect switch on the side of the card didn't get flicked when you inserted it into your PC.

or maybe the full size SD adapter you are using to hold the micro SD card is fooked. Try another adapter.

Quite often fake SD cards show those sort of symptoms too.

one would like to think amazon stuff is ok. noticed a number of issues about it and often towards sandisk. Chkdsk says write protected.

I wondered if the app/hardware it was used with has anything to do with it, whether they put write protection. (1 on phone 1 on action cam)

I found some other card put it in 2 sandisk adapters and put them in a usb stick all same issue.

update: well ive got some blank usb drive icons on devices for some reason so I tried to eject them, nothing happened but plugged the adapter back into the card slot and now they all work. weird and not really a solution.

So you are putting the sd cards into an adapter and then into a usb stick then into the computer?

you may want to invest in a new card reader aswell just in case the usb stick is also fooked.
