Default I'm in the market for a new phone.

My 6+ has been the best phone I've ever owned, but I either have it professionally cleaned or it gets traded it later this year.

If this happens Apple may get some of my hard earned cash

That's a good sized display if the phone size hasn't changed. I'm thinking of buying the iPhone 7 now that the prices have reached a sensible level.

Will see what they show. I moved from s6 edge plus to ip7 plus
IP7 it is a quicker phone, better storage, data works better, faster with coverage where s6 has delays with pages.
But screen is ****eeeee even it is IPS, and quick charge should be added 2 years ago.
(on the good side battery lasts longer than in s6 edge plus)
Annoy me You are able to use only certificate cables etc.
Is any way to browse Youtube in wide (it turns when You hit play but wish to browse that way)
Most what i like is Touch id and force Touch is ok
Im thinking to move to s8 + and again to ip8 or note 8 ( probably Note if they put 4k display and at least 128gb)
From s6 E+ i miss clock on the edge and flashing diode when You have message or missed call etc

What ever happens make sure if it's Apple and it's misbehaving, take it back within 12 months.
From what I can make out they're not designed to last more than 9

The first generation iPad that my old man has begs to differ.

You really need to just accept the fact you managed to buy a duffer and get over it.

It's as much the attitude the SA "genius" this time. And their policy

There was know problem with network , which is why took it in 10 days after warranty ran out
( Not believing a 600 quid phone could be duff)

And that original genius said there was nothing wrong with it.

This SA guy said it was ********d

you cant really compare the originals to now, very different kettle of fish as far as reliability.

Course you can, the production process hasn't changed that drastically in the last 10 years.

Though if it makes you feel better, i know plenty of people still using early (but not original) ipads/ipods that are working fine.

So why are the new ones suffering higher failure rates? either build quality has dropped, or design has got worse (which could be over designing weight savings etc).

I'm inclined to go with the latter, packaging tends to be a big issue with designing mobile devices.

I would wager it's antennae problems , least with the iPhone 5 onwards

We'll probably never know proportion failures, since they are just swopped out surreptitious like
