Default N64 with modern TV

I've just bought a N64 and want to use it with a modern Samsung TV, but can't get it to connect.

The TV has a scart socket but no joy. Will one of these AV cable to HDMI adaptors be the best option?

(I'm not very computer/TV literate, so be gentle)

So just using AV cables should work?

Didn't know if I'd need one of these...... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00J...9GJZFR756NFZTQ

You should be able to run it using the standard cables.

If using Scart then you should just plug it in and away you go.
If using the normal RF cable then you might need to tune in the channel.

something like this should work:

If you happen to have a Gamecube sat around at home, the Gamecube's AV cable is the same port as the N64 so plug it straight in and you're away. Some of the slim LED TV's have adapters to plug AV into.

It will look like ****e unfortunately, so it depends upon what you want to spend and how much the video quality is of importance to you.

I have found that it varies by brand, although none of these new lcd/led televisions seem to produce a picture as good as the old crt televisions.

My 1999 phillips 28 inch tv was great for playing my retro consoles on. unfortunately when we moved house it ended up in the shed. The next door neighbour's cats got in and decided to use it as a toilet

if your not happy with the picture quality from the original console, just use one of those cheap android boxes and load the emulators onto them, looks lovely and plays great
