I have a Black Impreza and always find it difficult to remove the White residue after a polish or wax etc.
Using the normal micro fibre cloth just tends to move the dust around, into door opeings etc.
Is there a cloth that gets rid of the dust?

I would advise going over it with a quick detailer spray like megs last touch or poorboys qd spray, will be the easiest way to remove any polish residue.

The Polish I am using is Menzerna stuff and then Black Fire Gloss Enhancing Polish followed by the Black Fire All Finish Paint Protection. This combo is recommended by PB and gives Black cars a fantastic finish.It's just the White dust that does my head in.

A paint sprayer once showed me a small cloth he reckoned was great for removing dust particles and I was wondering if anyone on here had used them?

Interesting, I use the Blackfire range on all my cars and get great results without any white polish residue, maybe use a little less product or the other product I use which would be a good addition to your kit would be Blackfire deep gloss spray sealant. Just a quick spray and wipe down after polish and waxing will remove any excess product and enhance the gloss of the paintwork.

What about the werkstatt stuff, that is supposed to be low dust. Mind you, if pb recomended the blackfire stuff then it's the right gear to use.

Most good quality polishes are low dust, took me a while to come round to the fact that you have to use a really small amount of product. Have seen a lot of people use excess product which makes it harder to remove and creates polish dust. I sometimes find with certain polishes a damp applicator can make using a bit less product easier.

Probably using the wrong wax Bob.

I used Dodo Juice - Purple Haze (Carnouba). Is magic and produces excellent results. No residue, easy to apply and not too expensive, about £35.

When I do give the car a good going over I usually hose it down again to get rid of the dust. Dry and add the final layer to bring up the final shine. Just realised that I have a garden vac that has a blower attatchment guess the motor unit will be getting cleaned next time I polish the car. Should blow any water and dust away.

i use autoglym hd waw and its briliant no white residue and its lasted a month and 2 blasts of snowfoam.

As suggested above, you are probably using a bit too much product, as used correctly none of the Blackfire products dust at all (not so with the Menzerna mind). Here are some tips for you...

1. After doing any kind of correction using Menzerna polishes use a lambswool duster to dust the car down - sounds daft, but my word it works, and leaves no fresh marring either. More details/info here...

2. When using the Blackfire products, use a little less and try to make it go further. It shouldn't dust if you use the correct amount on the pad.

3. Use a quick detailing spray and fresh microfibre towel at the end of each detail to do a final wipedown. There are many to choose from, but in your case either Blackfire's own brand one or Eimann Fabric Clear Pearl II would be ideal choices. More/info details here...

4. Another option is to rewash the car at the end of the detail. We don't like to do this ourselves, but some detailers do. Certainly gets rid of dust!
