Question Kestrel DAS-6 V Meguiars G220

The Kestrel seems to be a very good price..... for someone like myself that may only use a machine a couple of times a year or just on the odd light mark inbetween from the cat it seems like a good price to pay around £88, how does it compare against the more expensive G220 at £150 ?

Anyone running a Kestrel ?

The Kestrel DAS-6 has an almost identical design to the G220, and the same features, including a fully variable speed controller. The key difference between the two units is the quality of the materials used - the G220 features soft touch casing materials, while the Kestrel used cheaper rigid plastic casing materials. Other than that, there is very little to choose between them, and they both come with a 1 year warranty. Me personally, for home use only I would choose the Kestrel and save some money.

Lol, I wrote those guides, so I'm not sure if I can it much more simply! These dual action style machines are very safe to use, but still demand respect and some time spent getting comfortable with them. They are easy to control and move around, and there is virtualy no chance of burning the paint, but you do have to be careful not to squash the side of the pad and contact the hard backing plate against the bodywork. Using masking tape to cover trims and hard edges you don't want to polish is good safety precaution, hence why we include a roll with each kit we sell. I would spend a little time reading the guides and also the sticky thread at the top of this section about how to polish Subaru paint safely and effectively by hand or machine - this thread is the best starting place, as everything is illustrated, and the recommend pads and polishes shown.
