Post Rating - Not working under Safari 2 on Macintosh
I posted this thread in CR asking for Safari 2 users to rate my initial post as I had a feeling the post rating option wasn't working with Safari as clicking the icons didn't appear to do anything, whereas it did appear to work in Firefox.
If I copy the link for the post rating icon the code is as follows:
Looking in firefox the initial %20 (character escaping code for a space) does not appear, so it looks as though perhaps this might be the issue. Thanks to RichB for the suggestion on that point
If I copy the link for the post rating icon the code is as follows:
Code:
javascript:%20MyAjaxRequest('ratepost7280761','aja xratepost.php?p=7280761&r=0')
I've tried rating your post but it does not seem to have done anything. Of course it might simply be due to only me rating it and thus that won't increase/decrease the rating, however I'm sure you'll be able to see if I have rated the post or not.
My other thought is that it might just be that Safari 2 does not handle AJAX correctly in certain situations. I'm about to try Safari 3 so will report back shortly.
** Edit **
Same problem seems to exist in Safari 3.
I'm guessing you can only rate a post once? If so, is it possible to hide the rating buttons once you have rated the thread, as it would give a visual aid as to wether you have rated a post or not.
