The Swansea branch are supposed to be really good job whereas the Cardiff / Caerphilly branch are reported as being dire, you also have Prospeed in Cardiff who do a good job but make sure whoever you go to you tell them in no uncertain terms what you want and don't pay them until you are happy with the results.

You may be better off looking for a good quality rear silencer and a centre deresonated section if you want to increase the tone, I will have a scorpion centre section for sale soon and that may be enough to satisfy you.

I would keep your Prodrive sports cat as it's about the best you can get and your car will pass it's VOSA test with it fitted, some of the other sports cats are very close to failing as they don't always use good quality catalytic convertors.

What exactly does my prodrive exhaust consist of? Is it a sports cat downpipe and then no other cats and a straight through exhaust?

It has a sports cat, a resonated centre section and obviously the Prodrive silencer.

By fitting a deresonated centre section you will get a deeper and I think better exhaust note, the volume will increase slightly and you will get more of a burble.

My centre section has literally been on the car for two weeks and the car has run for less than an hour.

You won't beat a good aftermarket exhaust for quality. The welds, bends and finish are all computer controlled and not some muppet with a welder.

Very true, I had a right abortion of a system manufactured and after three visits back to a local exhaust specialist to get it put right which never happened in the end.

Better to buy a high quality supplier rather than from a monkey with a welder and some pipe.

Thanks for the offer cannon and I will think about it but ideally I'm after a full 3" straight through system from the turbo back but I'm just not sure which one to buy? I don't want an exhaust that makes me deaf after being in the car for 10 minutes then again I want to release all the potential of the car and for people to hear its a Scooby and hear me coming.

You've already got a good exhaust on the car as part of the PPP, unless you're aiming for figures well in excess of 400bhp which you won't achieve on the standard turbocharger.

A 3" exhaust system could actually rob you of performance rather than increasing it, if you want a better tone / slight increase in volume then you need to look at the centre and silencer sections.

With all due respect you do know how an exhaust system works and needs back pressure to operate properly?

It makes to odds to me what you do, you will find members trying to give you good advice whether you take any notice is up to you.

I have used longlife and prospeed in the past for custom systems and i have had a prospeed system on my car for about 6 years now. I have had mixed results with cardiff longlife but i am happy with the prospeed system i have. All that said, if i were to do it again i would take Ian's advice (trooper) and go for a high quality off the shelf item. Far less hastle and stress involved and each one is tried and tested. With a custom system every one is different so its difficult to know what you are going to get or if the quality will be there. If an off the shelf item is crap you just send it back and get a full new system but if a custom system has issues it gets worked on and worked on again rather than replaced, if that makes sense......

I have just fitted a Cobra 3 inch catback to my hatch, couldnot believe the difference it has had to the sound of the car, also the price I paid and the quality of the product imo can,t be beaten, also a lot of of different silencer styles to choose from.

You may be surprised at the bargains to be had from the better quality traders for Aftermarket stuff. Its sometimes cheaper than "the custom built" scaffold pipe and rock wool.

Just not sure what set up or exhaust to go for!! Don't want something that makes my ears bleed after 10 minutes on a run but want something that you can hear coming and so can everyone else so they know it's a Scooby.

Unless your wearing ear plugs or you have bought a Hatch, a Scoob will sound like a Scoob. Your current set up is pretty good and personally I would stick with it, it's almost as if your after more attention and thread starting then Cannon Fodder

H&S, Ninja, Prodrive WR Sport, STi Genome, Cobra, Fujitsubo etc etc the list goes on. We can lead a horse to water but we can't make it drink.

Hayward and Scott always recommended 2.5' below 350bhp to maintain good torque
