Default BC Coilover repair

My BC Coilovers are creaking/knocking and one looks like it has leaked.

Are these repairable or is it just a bin job?

call BC in the Uk, you can buy most parts from them.

01274 683 633

you can buy a replacement cartridge...not that expensive too.

Cheers dude, although I don't specifically know what is wrong with the coilovers.

Don't suppose you're a coilover expert or anyone is that can tell me what to look for?

if its leaking...its screwed..simples seal has gone, needs a new cartridge.
best way to check is take the coil over off, remove the spring and top mount. then depress the cartridge , if it pops straight back up...its poo pood.

knocking could be the top mount has come loose, just crank up the top nut and see if the noise goes, if you have pillow ball mounts they might be worn or just need stripping and a dose of lithium grease in there.

Ok cool, so basically once I get the coilover off the car its pretty easy to diagnose what needs to be replaced then.

Thanks for your help

The rear appears to be ok, its is only noticed when the fronts go over a bump.

I have no clue about the rears anyway these came with the car so they could be oem or metal.

When I pull off the fronts I will look at the rears too to check.

fronts will be pillowball, rears are probably OEM hard rubber if you are getting no noises from the back.

pillowball rears make noise from day one..just the nature of the design.

I imagine this could be some of the noises I get from the front ones then?

Maybe, but if it is leaking like you said then it's screwed, no two ways about it and will need a new cartridge
