Default Trip to Ireland

Hello guys,

I'm surprising my wife with a trip to Ireland. I have a good friend whos family is from Co Claire and she gave me a list of places I should try to go.
I think we are going to be over for about a week and we are planning on staying on the west side and I wanted to know if you guys have any recommendations as to anywhere else we should go?

Also we have found several rooms on http://www.bandbireland.com/ I don't know yet what the going rate is for rooms, or if there are nice cheaper places to stay.

And as for car rentals are there any places that rent Scoob's? it would be pretty nice to run around Ireland in an STi.

Any Ideas would be helpful especially with food.

Here is a list in no order where my friend said we should travel.

We will be flying into Shannon
Dingle Peninsula, CO Clare, Co Galway
Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Aliwee Caves, Aran Islands
Skellig Michael.

The last two if we get the chance.

Thanks!!
Robbie

The Ring of Kerry is a good drive.

Beautiful scenery and some great small villages to shop/eat in.

The Blasket Centre on the coast road around the Dingle peninsular is worth a look.

If you are down around County Clare, you should try visiting the Father Ted House from the well known Channel 4 show from years back....not much to do at it but nice to say you have been there.

Its down near The Burren, not too far from The Allwee Caves either, if you want some directions drop me a PM.

Can't see you finding anywhere that would hire you an STi. The roads over there are interesting to say the least, lots of lumps, bumps, potholes etc. Last time I was over I still had the Passat, managed to scrape the undertray a number of times but didn't really care that much as it was old and expendable. Think I'd be driving a bit more carefully if I took the BM over

Thank you Kevin We will be in the area so its worth a peek. Plan is to fly into shannon, get some food then hit the road in my rental Fiesta and enjoy the great fuel economy, hit up galway, then work the coast on the way down, the burren, ailwee cave, doolin, cliffs of moher, arans, dingle, killarney, kenmare, ring of kerry, cork, cashel, then explore shannon before my flight back out, Ive got 8-9 days. Ive got a better list, not enough time to go up further north to Donegal which is where my family is from, the Latta's. But it would be fun.

Thank you for the ideas. Right now since my wife had our flyback date entered wrong and cannot change it. We will only be there for 8 days. Going to try to do everything I can, I want to do visit county Meath so when we fly back to belgium later this year I may schedule a layover of a day or two in Dublin and ride up for a visit.

Registered, will post when approved. Her break from school only allowed us to travel next week so I wasnt able to be there for Isle of Mann like I wished. But I have been looking for meets and the such. If an american in an Opel gives you a thumbs up or a wave run me down and say hello . i cannot wait to visit.
