After my long wait ....i got my WRX yesterday, it may be a '93 but it is what it says it is on the wrapper.

Just reading the articles about SUL ... Is it essential to use, or can you use NUL and then is octane booster essential. i can get NUL for around 79p/L

Hi and welcome. Stick with SUL. Even though it's a little more expensive its better for your engine...and we dont buy these cars to save money do we

I run my 94 WRX Wagon on NUL and have done for the past year. I have done a run from UK to Germany and back, and ran on SUL on the way out and NUL on the way back. Apart from being a little smoother at tickover, I did not notice much difference. Will be putting in Broquet as soon as it arrives, thus will run some tests to see if it makes any difference as well.

Most people say 'You must run jap spec on SUL' really, it's up to you. if you want to be safe then run SUL.

I would say that on a trackday I WOULD run SUL and probably octane booster, but for normal on road driving, I'll only use NUL, unless SUL get's cheaper.

I have swapped my 95 WRX onto SUL in the last month after a year of NUL, and I am convinced that it is now smoother and slighty more responsive (It may be all in the mind but I do now feel the extra expense is worth it.)
