Default Expensive week

Well after ordering the wife a new shape mini JCW. I've gone and ordered myself a new mk7 Golf GTI doesn't turn up until March / April it's better than the MINI won't see that until October.

So anyone here got the new Mk7 golf ? What do they drive like ?

Are there none available to test? I would expect it to be "competent", are you expecting this or something more?

I read a few journalist reviews which suggested it was underwhelming, but solid and safe as a Golf always is.

I'm sure I will enjoy it. Have read the top gear and other write ups.
Just wondered if anyone here had one.

Did you not test drive before buying? Although the Golf has been same ish for many years, I doubt many would buy a GTI (or other model) without giving it the once over.
Maybe you like surprises.

What deal did you get?

I'm just about to place an order myself.

3 Door GTI with Performance Pack
Metallic Paint
19" Alloys
Winter pack
Dynaudio
(Maybe satnav)

I've had a look on `Drive the deal`, and they're showing £3500 discount. Did your dealer get close or better than this?

I got the dealer to Match the DTD price.

Mine is a met black 5dr, performance pack, winter pack, sat nav, reverse park camera. Wanted the 19" wheels but would only end up curbing one of them.

No I haven't driven one. I'm sure I will enjoy it. There is nothing eles on the market at the moment I want.

I'm a bit anti FWD but the GTi seems one of the best of the breed - looks great, handles well. But 19s on one are a bit gay

A big fan of the mk7 sadly out of my price range for the moment, instead I've got mk6 GTI in steal grey and after nearly a year of ownership I love it. The mk7 is a def grower and heard some good stuff, sat in a mk7 gtd at local dealer and may consider this after the gti.
