Default Cambridge Subaru in Harston

Anyone used the new Subaru dealer in Harston, just outside Cambridge? Looks like it's been going since about August - it used to be Saab.

Seems Welch Group in Shelford no longer have the franchise as they don't appear on the Subaru website....

Not used 'um, no. I believe they're run by a chap called James Hewitt ( ? )

He's the same chap who has the Total petrol station in Histon and a few other places in the area.

I used welches a couple of month ago, seems they we're running their operation out of the truck service area!

Tbh I'd keep clear of all dealers and go for an Indy like Tim Farmer.

I had a VHC there, but just quotes other than that.

Front discs and pads (OEM), over £1000, although to be fair I think the labour was just £75.
Oil change for engine, gearbox/front diff and rear diff, me providing the oil and engine filter, £90 for the labour and disposal.
4 wheel alignment £204, and would take 2 days. £55 an hour at track club just up the A14.

Bit pricey I think but they're an option for basic stuff. Anyone else know of any good general servicing places around Cambs that are scooby friendly?

P.S. Welch's are still going, although they quoted me £80 an hour labor not long ago for some very basic work.

That is the problem with going to main dealers for servicing and parts, they do tend to be so much more expensive that your local garage and tbh if you don't know something exactly or not 100% sure the good old internet will help them out with how too's lol

As said above Tim Farmer. He is a mobile Subaru specialist. Used to work at Zen Performance, good guy and cheap

He is based in Cambridgeshire but will travel (Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex etc)

I got my Impreza from them. Very nice people. Have had some work completed under the warranty they have me with the vehicle.

I also know a guy who's had about £1700 worth of work done there. He seems very pleased with them.

The mechanics seem to know their stuff very well.

I had to have the dash pulled out and the firewall welds repaired. They had it done pretty fast and seem to have good customer service.

10/10 would go back.
