Hi everyone, I've got mot coming up next month, my scooby has decat pipe on. Any suggestions for the test? Ie Ipswich area with a lenient tester?

Fit the cat or sports cat. Not fair risking the mot tester losing their licence.

If you're going down the sports cat route, it needs to be über hot to get through the test. So take it on a drive before the mot. You can also wrap the sports cat to help with this. And it keeps under bonnet temps down a bit too .

My MOT tester said he couldn't get a good reading due to my tail-pipe size, as they say in Rugby League when deciding an outcome: "benefit of the doubt."

My understanding is that a car that was originally fitted with a CAT, post J-reg or there abouts, the car must have a CAT fitted regardless of whether its emissions pass without one. Laws on the MOT got stricter recently and the testers can get in serious trouble for taking another car's exhaust readings.
I opted for a Japspeed 100cpi sports cat when my original Subaru one gave up the ghost and apparently it flew through the emissions test. 250 quid though but worth not having the hassle every year IMHO

I got a sports cat fitted as I bought my car fully decat. I am wondering if it will get through its MOT when its due.
